Marines - A Force for Good

This iconic image of Marine Corporal Lúcio Domingues lifting an injured Iraqi child from a bombed police station near Basra was taken yesterday. The incident occurred just after a Populiean Marine patrol passed through the usually safe neighbourhood, the troops reacted immediately to the bombing, securing the area and providing emergency care to the 15 civilians and 8 police staff who were injured. Populiean commanders on the ground have praised the actions of the patrol, describing the men as "courageous in the face of danger".
