History
Terminology
The term "unio" is often an ambiguous one in the single currency nations, in New Rhodesia 100 unios = 1 Union Credit (like 100 cents = 1 Dollar), so something costing Û1.20 in free flow conversation would be called 1 credit 20 unios, Û1.20û. In other nations the terms "credit" does not apply at all, but are merely called "Ûnios" in all forms, still some refer to anything below a "credit" as centûrios, and anything over a Ûnio.
So as in the above example, in free flow conversation it would be stated at 1 Unio 20 centûrios. Or, 1 Unio point 20 unios. Point referring to the decimal. In some small instances some individuals refer to the new currency by their old currency name.
There has so far been no current legislature or proposal currently in debate or in the senate to solve this issue, as such single currency member nations, are all to often left to their own devices.
The first instance that the issue was raised was by the New Rhodesian minister at the chancellor of the exchequer who highlighted the issue that had so far been overlooked, unfortunately the issue has not yet come to pass, but is expected to resurface in the future. The term credit first came into existence shortly before the legislature of the central bank. The unio credit has so far been adopted by the SCJU unofficially as accepted terminology for the new currency on the USX, the central bank and transfer system. It has proved to be quite popular as electronic currency. Whether the term continues to be used to describe paper money form, remains to be seen.
Unio Mint
The very first unio mint was awarded to Dominea, by senate majority in recognition of the outstanding work that was contributed by it's minister in designing and submitting the union credits.
In 2006, the chancellor of the exchequer approved New Rhodesia's application to construct a unio HQ for the UK but, additionally the chancellor issued the right for New Rhodesia to construct Earth's sole Unio mint, something the province never asked for, but was gladly received. The complex is currently being built in New Rhodesia City aside Rhodendron bay.
Unio Designs
One Unio Note
Only two versions of the unio note is currently in circulation however, it was intended to have many different versions of the Ûnio one note, 1 version per member, with specific member detailing on each one. Also a generic version was planned, sadly not all of these have come to pass.
