Transport in the Kingdom
From SCJU Wiki

The Kingdom has well-developed road, air, rail, and water networks with passenger transport growing significantly in recent years. Figures from the Cytherian Transport Authority show that total passenger travel inside the Kingdom has risen from 312 billion passenger kilometres in 1982 to 568 billion in 2009.
In 1961 44 billion tonne kilometres of goods were moved, with rail accounting for 62%, road 26% and water 12%. By 2002 the volume of freight moved had almost trebled to 254 billion tonne kilometres, of which 17.5% was moved by rail, 16% by water, 4% by pipeline and 62% by road.
This shift from rail to road is both caused by, and a cause of, changes in the relative sizes of their networks; whereas the rail network has reduced, the motorway network was not as expansive in 1961. It has also been caused by rising economic affluence, the move of the population away from city centres, and changes in industry.
In 2008, the Cytherian Transport Authority stated that traffic congestion is one of the most serious transport problems facing the Kingdom. According to the Authority, bottleneck roads are in serious danger of becoming so congested that it may damage the economy.
Air
There are 104 airports and airfields in the Kingdom, of which 85 are paved. There are also 16 heliports.
Cytherian Transport Authority, which is state owned, is the Kingdoms only airport operator, its flagship being Akai International, just outside of Leon-Owen. It is one of the largest traffic volume international airports in Atlantica Alba.
Other major airports include Sutton International in Semtania, Delphmire International, south of Delphmire and Port Chester Municipal.
The largest airline in the Kingdom is Air Royale and has it's main hub at Akai International.
Rail
The rail network in Royal Cytheria consists of two independent parts, that of Semtania Proper and that of Royal Cytheria proper. Since 2008, the latter has been connected to the Atlantean colony of Perseus across the Cytherian Strait.
The rail network in Royal Cytheria is amongst the oldest such networks on Atlantica Alba. The system consists of four high-speed main lines (Leon-Owen to Perseus, Leon-Owen to Sutton, Leon-Owen to Akai and Delphmire to Sutton. There are currently plans to extend the high speed lines to Calderwood and Ostalba in a bid to create an Alban wide high speed line.
In the Kingdom, the infrastructure (track, stations, depots and signalling chiefly) is owned and maintained by the Cytherian Transport Authority, a state owned company. Passenger services are operated by train operating companies, which are franchises awarded by the Cytherian or Semtanian Government.
The largest train operating company is Xsar Trains, or Xsars as it is more commonly known.
