History

The history of Sierrastare is able to be traced back to 1200 BC, However European influence didn't take place until the 17th century. The French Arrived in 1621 to a very well developed native society which would later use their language. Landis was colonized by the British in 1732. By 1775 most people who were natives in Sierrastare were enslaved. The few that werent enslaved held high positions in power.

Sierrastare was formed in 1806 along with Landis forming as it's own country a day later.

By the early 1900's Sierrastare had become a place of growth , The economy was constantly moving in the country however trade with other countries was still very limited and stayed that way until the 1980's. As the rest of the world went through the Great Depression , Sierrastare continued to grow on a financial level until 1935 when a brief crash occured. After the brief crash Sierrastare's economy it continued to grow again until 1969.

In 1969 Naepolian Redstone overthrew his 69 year old mother . His mother would flee to Morroco , then to England in 1973. That same year Sierrastare became an Empire and the future King of Sierrastare, Toussaint Redstone is jailed. By 1978 sanctions from 11 nations were threatening to be imposed upon Sierrastare due to the mistreatment of citizens whose family were killed , starved , and exiled. Many people began to leave and the economy by then had reached stage 3 failure. The worst rating of failure in the Sierrastarin economy.

The Empire ended with the death of Naepolian on December 30th 1979 and Toussaint became the head of the country. By May 28th , on the 174th anniversary of the founding of Sierrastare, A republic was formed. The modern day senate with 30 senators and 300 sub-senators took office along with Toussaint as King even though his powers became vastly limited to what they would have been had a senate not been in place to impose checks and balances.

Claudiya became queen after the death of Toussaint and Gracea ( The former Queen of Sierrastare)on May 28th 1994 . Her approval and accension to the throne occured June 9th of the same year. In 1995 the Republic of Sierrastare became the New Kingdom of Sierrastare. In the following years the country had began it's rise to where it is today. It's acceptance into the SCJU as a Ambassadoral nation was acknowledged fully March 1st and it's acceptance as a Full Member occured July 4th with acknowledgement the same day.

In May 2008 Claudiya revealed that she was having another child however more recently she was quoted saying that she may have another set of twins. She is currently 5 and a half months pregnant. The gender of the childen are not known.

Also this list in order of succession. However If Claudiya were to Die her Husband would continue to rule as Lord of Landis while her half sister Daiowne takes the throne as queen. If Daiowne dies while on the throne her daughter Uriiel Saviera Redstone will take the throne as Queen if over age 13.

Claudiya's current children are so far the last in line in succession , This is due to the age law that was put into place making them last to be eligible to rule. However if infact a succession crisis takes place Lukiam and Elissah can rule as King and Queen and can marry seperately in order to produce more hiers to the throne and keep a line of succession going.

Language

In Sierrastare there ae many languages that are spoken. 61 languages along with dozens of dialects of many. Since the 1860's many people in Sierrastare have spoken English. Before the 1860's though most people in Avance Province and Ratarinta Province spoke French. People who spoke English mainly lived in Landis. Although with English being used more commonly in the world 80 percent of people spoke English in Sierrastare by 1915. Spanish came into the country in the 1930's along with Chinese. In 1935 many Africans from western Africa brought their language along with them. Some of the French speakers in a relatively short time slowly gained a dialect which would become it's own language.

Sierrastarin wasn't coined as an offical language until 1937. People who spoke it were considered to be using ebonics and improper french. However studies soon indicated that the words that were created in Sierrastarin for certain things made the language unique. Also it is spoken slower than when spoken in normal french. for example:

" Comment alle-vous? " is said in French in a certain manner that makes it sound like one word. However in Sierrastarin words are rearranged and even substituted and speech is slowed even though it maintains it's fluidity. In Sierrastarin you would say " How are you? " as "Commenalle Tier?" making it sound completely different from it's French predecessor.

Loan words were also being added from English along with other languages , Particularlly those from Asia. like the word 'cat' , in japanese it's 'neko' in Sierrastarin it's 'necruz' , it can also be used from the word feline as 'felicae'

Sierrastarin is currently the second most spoken language in Sierrastare , French is the 3rd most spoken along with Spanish being the 4th , Dutch being the 5th , and German being the 6th. Japanese and Chinese speakers have also quadrupled in population over the last 5 years as well. Also note that in Sierrastare it is common for 1 person to know 3 different languages which is the average. To be a college professor in Sierrastare you must know 5 languages in order to get a lingual certification which qualifies you to teach language arts and foreign language courses.

Transportation

Sierrastare has a extensive railway system along with a growing roadway system. It also has ferry service which has been continuous for the past 119 years.

Railways

In Sierrastare a dense railway network is set up to serve over 6 million riders daily. In this dense Network every major city is served by the rail networks and there are numerous stations in the suburbs. The 2 main companies that are active in Sierrastare . SNR - Sierrastare Nation Railways is the first. SNR Services over 4.2 Million of the 6 million passengers that ride the rails in Sierrastare daily. The other is the newly formed L~R or Linges de Railwoix.( In English it means Lines of Railways ). L~R serves 1.8 million people in Landis Province as well as Avance and Ratarinta Province. L~R however is built off of smaller rail systems which went belly up between 1979 and 1992 .

There are many challenges for the system. One in particular is keeping up with capacity. With 6 million citizens there a extra 1 million citizens who are in Sierrastare as tourist using the system. The load on the system is slowly begin to tug on line functionality. Along with capacity becoming a problem maintenance cost are very high many places. SNR is reporting that on it's Local Branch between Jolientdroit and Celestare, that the tracks have been worn out 10 years before they were supposed to. To add , on this particular branch switching problems are becoming more and more common. The technology on one switch has been considered obsolete for about 40 years.

Another issue is divisioning in SNR as well. The SNR has 3 divisions. Electrified lines that are heavy used and contain usually 3 tracks are considered Division 1. Non electrified lines that normally 2 tracks and have a upper speed limit between 50 and 80 are in division 2. Division 3 lines are lines that are at least 1 of three things. 1.They are single tracked 2.They are narrow gauge ( which has been eliminated in over 95 percent of rail in Sierrastare) 3.They are routes that are express routes that run in the inner rails skipping all minor stops.

Due to the listed reasons some end up being Double Divisioned. For instance the Joliendroit to Celestare Express Line is Division 1 and 3. Because it is electrified and it is a express line it falls under there two catergories.

A few lines fall into the All Around Division , like the Erviltyne to Opalesses Line. Some parts are electrified making the line Division one . It has some sections that do not use an electric current, Making it division two. And it is single tracked between Maldt and Brynette (3KM - 11.1 miles ) making it division 3. All of this alone causes Division assignment to become difficult because rail lines are now slowly changing Divisions within a matter of years.

L~R on the other hand is dealing with stringy service routes. This is caused by SNR taking up most of the railways in Sierrastare. L~R was given only fragment by fragment while other companies that used to own them went belly up. L~R also has ambitious plans to build a rail tunnel linking the main city of the Eastern Islands via a tunnel. Many say that the plan due to relatively shallow waters can come to fruition within the next 10 to 20 years depending upon construction techniques . This alone has caused SNR to stir and many executives are finding other ways to bring in business other than expansion (SNR is many times larger then L~R )

Also L~R isn't servicing many main routes as it only services Nantes and Girard on the East coast of Avance Province as main stops. Each of these cities are not of more than 100,000 people per one. L~R services mainly Joliendroit to Inverhattan , On which of the 1.8 million trips used 1 million are done on a daily basis.This alone makes up where SNR lost out.

High Speed One

There is also plans for a high speed route to be built to help ease the crunch of inner provincial commuter lines. The new rail zone HS1 - High Speed One is a Atlantean venture aimed at helping Sierrastare solve it's transit issues concerning railway manageability. The project will establish a new right of way system in which will become a specialized rail zone. Along with that many rail lines will be getting updated over a 17 year period. The construction of the HS1 has been quoted to be finished by 2012 however SNR and L~R officals are skeptical of such a close date placing the year at 2030 and 2020 respectively.

Rail Upgrades

Following the announcement of High Speed One to the citizens of Sierrastare another plan was launched in order to help fix the ailing mechanical components and the tracks in the new plan. the plan was called the Back on Track Program which is now being used to help discard old mechanical materials along with bringing in new ones to replace them as well as getting new track and replacing older sections with welded rail to continue the phasing out of joints. This program alone will cost over 800 million dollars if it remains on budget , However some firms are claiming that it could cost 1.5 billion dollars. With that stated, the ground breaking of the B.o.T Program was held Friday , November 21st 2008. It's date for completion is slated for 2015 for Phase One and 2020 for Phase 2.

Roadways

Since 1988 highways in Sierrastare have been one of the few places were people have turned to when riding in a private vehicle. In all there are 17 interstates and 2 grand interstates along with numerous expressways. 1 million people travel on these roads on a daily basis heading to and from their work.
