Passport Security Top Priority
Extract from Cytherian Times, Published: 03/12/2008

Leon-Owen - In a predicted move, the government today announced new strict immigration and travel restrictions which are to come into effect in the new year. Starting next month, all citizens holding current passports are being issued information packs which will enclose details on the switchover to the new biometric passports.
Citizens will then be required to attend a meeting with their local authority in which a print of the right index finger and a scan of the right iris is to be taken. Citizens will also be able to raise any queries they may have at the meeting. The process will take approximately 18 months to complete and the switch over will take place region by region, starting with the Leon-Owen Metropolitan Area.
As well as the new passports for Cytherian citizens, foreign visitors will see a marked increase in the amount of security around all airports, seaports, rail stations and the Perseus/Cytherian tunnel. Visas will also be more difficult to obtain, with the exception of some nations in which Visa's are not required, such as New Rhodesia, Ostalba, Dominea and the "No Passports Required (NPR)" group of nations.
RMS Leviathan En-Route to Kingdom of Movia
Extract from The Sutton Enquiry, Published: 09/11/2008

Sutton - One of Royal Cytheria's three nuclear submarines set off today en-route to the Kingdom of Movia to participate in a crew exchange program. RMS Leviathan, a nuclear submarine carrying a limited number of nuclear active warheads, will be based in the port of Ayrinn, eastern Movia. The submarine will be based there for approximately 8 months with a crew compliment from both Movia and Royal Cytheria.
Premier Morris today announced "This is a great leap forward in Cytherian/Movian military co-operation and a fine example of the trust and regard our two nations hold for each other."
