Laura Roslin discussing mediation with Pacific Columbia and Royal Cytheria.
Roslin mediates woes and finishes the day with an alliance

(NEW RHODESIA CITY, 23rd October 2008) - Laura Roslin's hands were full this week as she took a stern approach to the political spat between the constitutional Monarchy of Pacific Columbia, Royal Cytheria and Movia. Tired of the atmosphere generated by theses member states over a period of several months, the New Rhodesian representative threatened members involved to "mend their fences" or suffer negative diplomatic relations with New Rhodesia. Initially not at all bothered by the threat from New Rhodesia, Royal Cytheria reaffirmed its "Non-Recognition" of Pacific Columbia, prompting Movia to support Royal Cytheria in aggreement. The New Rhodesian Delegation then forced the two parties of Pacific Columbia and Royal Cytheria into mediation, and several hours later both sides had worked toward a significant goal of good-will toward each other, resulting in Movia also changing its stance to that of Royal Cytheria's. "It's a firm start" said Laura Roslin at the Podium today. "We can move forward and put the past behind us. The Union is for Unity". The following day, New Rhodesia signed an Alliance treaty with the United Republic of Populieus called the Atlantic Bipartite Alliance.

Tyrol Government to allow Lufthansa flights to Pacific Columbia
(CHLOE, 11th October 2008) - The nations transportation board today announced it would be allowing Lufthansa the ability to charter passengers between Tyrol and Pacific Columbia, after travel restrictions were placed instead of sanctions this past summer. In light of the recent economic crises the board voted 4-3 that all international visitors will be vital to the Tyrol economy, and that they would be putting the past disagreements between the two nations aside. The board will not be allowing Pacific Columbian Airlines the ability though, and many analysts believe this as punishment for the economic and political sanctions Pacific Columbia placed on Tyrol. Lufthansa has been a strong condemner of recent travel restrictions placed on Pacific Columbia, as the route had in the past been a heavily travelled one. Some analysts put numbers at almost 25,000 tourists flowing into Tyrol from Pacific Columbia in November when flights are scheduled to begin.

Pheonoia's Military Begins Its Growth
(PARADISE VALLEY, 20th September 08) - After a second rather controversial proposal from the Pheonoian Government on aid to assist with a formation of a military, the nations three main training bases, Ft. Liberty Army Base in Paradise Valley, Ft. Ruckers Air Force Base in Silver City, and Ft. Hammersen Naval Academy in Tango Peninsula, opened today with recruits topping 500,000. Foreign Aid from the ever supportive Atlantian Empire and Cascadia came in the form of weapons, monetary assitance, and most important, training.

"Its quite comforting to see this, young men waiting desperately for a chance to defend their new nation, and finally given that chance." said Defense Secretary Thomas Bradford while observing the Army training at Ft. Liberty. "Most of the SARF troops are exhausted, and have been anxious to get back hom for some rest. Plus, its our turn to assit when needed."
