Disaster, Emergency and Attack Warning System (DEAWS)

The DEAWS comes into place when there is a threat to National Security in Calderwood, this includes natural disasters such as Hurricanes, Tsunamis and Earthquakes. The DEAWS mesage appears on all TV channels when there is an issue that the public need to be aware of. A key of DEAWS is shown below:

===Low Grade Alert=== - Alert but not too serious, perhaps a slight breach of security at an Airport or Train Station that was probably accidental but people should be aware just incase. A low risk of a disaster occuring, but it is possible.

===Medium Grade Alert=== - People should be wary of suspicious activity and should report it to the Police, this alert could be caused by a threat or even the leaving of suspicious luggage at an airport. Storms approaching and natural disaster a liability.

===Elevated Grade Alert=== - A breach of security that was taken rather seriously, the police and security services are investigating, but aren't expecting to find anything particularly worrying. Bad weather conditions that have already caused loss of life approaching and won't change course.

===High Grade Alert=== - There is a high risk of a bombing/disaster occuring and citizens should avoid public transport if possible.

===Extreme Grade Alert=== - Attack/disaster is extremely likely probably imminent. All citizens should evacuate major cities as soon as possible or get to a designated shelter if they are unable to leave due to medical reasons or lack of transport.
